Software in Tamil and English for Tamil Nadu's trades
VS Tech Builders works from Madurai with businesses across the state, building websites, Android apps and management systems with Tamil and English screens.
Across Tamil Nadu, the software a business needs depends on its cluster: job-work tracking in Tiruppur, dealer warranties in Coimbatore, trip sheets in Namakkal, lot-wise stock in Erode. We build those systems, along with websites and Android apps, with Tamil on the screens where staff and customers need it, and run projects outside Madurai through weekly video demos.
Working with us
- 01
Tamil where it helps
Counter staff, field agents and customers can work in Tamil while your accountant and auditor see English, in the same system.
- 02
No trip to Madurai needed
Discovery, design reviews and weekly demos run on video calls, so a client in Hosur or Nagercoil follows every stage from their own office.
- 03
Modules that fit your cluster
Job-work tracking for knitwear, trip sheets for transport, job cards for printing: the system follows how your trade actually runs.
- 04
Correction window included
Every project has a 14-day post-launch correction window, and the Standard and Premium plans add one or three months of support.
Tamil on screen: where it earns its place
A Tamil interface is less a translation job than a decision about who uses each screen. The billing clerk in a Karur textile shop, the collection agent riding between villages for an agro-input dealer and the parent reading a school circular all work faster in Tamil. The auditor reviewing your books and the export buyer checking an order want English. Good software for this state lets each person see the language that suits their job, inside one system with one set of data.
The details matter more than the headline feature. A customer's name gets typed in Tamil script on one bill and in English letters on the next, so search has to find "Selvi" either way. Some thermal receipt printers cannot print Tamil text directly, which is worth checking before the bill format is designed. SMS and WhatsApp messages in Tamil need testing on ordinary phones, not only in a browser. Our guide to multilingual websites in India covers the website side of these choices, including when a second language is not worth the cost.
Software shaped by the state's industrial clusters
Tamil Nadu's industry grows in clusters, and each cluster has habits that ready-made software tends to ignore.
- Coimbatore pumps and textiles: pump and motor makers sell through dealers, so warranty registration by serial number, dealer orders and spare-part stock belong in one place, while spinning units track output by shift and count. Our guide to business management software in Coimbatore goes further.
- Tiruppur knitwear: an export order moves through knitting, dyeing, printing and stitching, often at separate job-work units. Knowing how much fabric went out and came back against each order is the core problem, covered in business management software in Tiruppur.
- Sivakasi printing: presses run on job cards, paper and plate costing and fast quotes for repeat customers, and a site that shows past work brings in new enquiries, which is why we wrote about website development in Sivakasi.
- Namakkal poultry and transport: farms record egg counts, feed and flock health every day, while lorry owners track trips, diesel advances and driver bata. Both suit a phone app used in the shed or on the highway, as our page on Android app development in Namakkal explains.
- Salem steel: steel traders and fabricators price by weight, so the system has to follow material from purchase to finished job, kilo by kilo.
- Erode turmeric: traders buy lots at market auctions, grade them, hold them in godowns and sell over months, so lot-wise stock and ageing matter more than a polished storefront.
Working with us from another district
Our team is in Madurai, and a project in Hosur, Thoothukudi or Vellore can run from start to finish without anyone travelling. Discovery happens on a video call with the people who will use the system, not just the owner. Designs and working builds arrive as links you open on your phone, each week of development ends with a demo, and decisions are confirmed in writing so nothing depends on memory. If a stage genuinely needs someone on site, such as training a large floor team, raise it at discovery so it becomes part of the agreed scope.
When a custom build is the wrong answer
A single shop with standard GST billing does not need custom software; a ready-made billing app costs less and does the job. A trader whose customers all order on WhatsApp may need a catalogue and a payment link before a website. Custom work pays off when your process is genuinely different, such as job work spread across several units, a dealer network or stock tracked lot by lot. If you are unsure which side you fall on, describe a normal working day to us and we will give you a straight answer.
Find the guide for your city
Beyond this state-level overview, we have written separate guides for cities and towns across Tamil Nadu and beyond, covering websites, Android apps, online stores, school software and business software for each. Our locations directory lists them all, from Chennai and Coimbatore to Theni, Karur and Rajapalayam.
Frequently asked questions
Can one system show Tamil to some users and English to others?
Yes. Each user can work in the language that suits the job, so a counter clerk sees Tamil while the accountant sees English, and both are looking at the same records. Reports for your auditor and GST filings stay in English. Customer messages can go out in Tamil, and we test them on ordinary phones before launch, because the way Tamil text renders can differ between handsets.
Can the software keep working when the internet drops at our unit?
Yes, if it is designed for that from the start. An Android app can store entries on the phone and sync when the connection returns, which suits poultry sheds, godowns and lorries on the highway. A browser-based office system needs a connection, so for sites with unreliable internet we decide at discovery which tasks must work offline and build those into the app. Adding offline support later costs more.
Should our website be in Tamil, English or both?
It depends on who searches for you and how. Many Tamil-speaking customers search in English, or type Tamil words in English letters, so an English site usually still matters. A second language is worth adding when your customers read Tamil more comfortably, as with a temple trust, a school or a local service business. Each language then needs its own pages rather than an automatic translation widget.
What does management software for a Tiruppur or Coimbatore unit cost?
A single-module tool, such as job-work tracking or dealer orders on its own, typically costs ₹50,000 to ₹1,50,000. A complete system covering orders, production, stock and billing usually falls between ₹1,50,000 and ₹5,00,000, and custom ERP work typically starts around ₹85,000. Management systems take eight to sixteen weeks. The fixed quote follows a discovery session where we map how your orders actually move.
