Operational software for firms that run on deadlines and trust
Chit fund systems, collection apps, practice management for CA and law firms, and renewal tools for insurance agents, with every date and rupee accounted for.
Finance and professional services software here means operational tools: chit fund management, field collection apps, CA practice management, law firm case tracking and insurance renewal CRMs. It suits firms that run on deadlines and client trust. It does not include core banking, lending or payment systems, which need regulated specialists.
The challenges we hear most
- 01
Deadlines multiplied by clients
Every GST, TDS and income-tax due date repeats across the whole client list, and one missed filing costs a penalty and often the client.
- 02
Cash collected in the field
Agents collect instalments in cash, write receipts in books and settle at night, leaving room for disputes and shortfalls.
- 03
Auction-day arithmetic
Bids, dividends, the foreman's commission and prize payouts are calculated by hand for every chit group, every month.
- 04
Sensitive documents everywhere
PAN details, bank statements and ID copies travel by email and WhatsApp and sit on shared computers without access control.
- 05
Renewals that slip
Policy renewals and premium dues tracked in diaries lapse quietly, taking the agent's commission with them.
What we build

- 02

Field agents record payments offline, send instant SMS or WhatsApp receipts and reconcile cash at day-end.
- 03
Practice management for CA firms
Compliance calendar, task allocation, client document requests, DSC expiry alerts and fee invoicing.
- 04

Cases, hearing dates, a daily diary, documents per matter and client updates for law firms.
- 05
Renewal CRM for agents
Policies grouped by family, premium due dates, reminders and claim notes for insurance agents.
- 06

Businesses that sell promises with dates on them
A chit fund promises a prize amount on auction day. A CA firm promises that every client's return will be filed before the due date. An insurance agent promises to remind a family before their policy lapses. A lawyer promises to be in court when the matter is called. In each case the product is a promise with a date attached, and the business is judged on keeping it. Software for these firms is less about automation than about making sure no date, no rupee and no document is forgotten.
The line we do not cross
Some finance software is regulated, and it should be built by specialists. VS Tech Builders does not build core banking systems, lending or credit-decision engines, payment aggregation, wallets or trading platforms. Those carry obligations from the Reserve Bank of India and other regulators, along with certifications and audits that a general studio should not take on. What we do build is the operational layer around a financial business: collections, client records, reminders, portals and dashboards, connected to your core systems where they offer an API.
Chit funds: auction day without the calculator
A registered chit company runs many groups at once, each with its own subscribers, monthly instalment, auction, dividend and prize payout. The arithmetic is simple but relentless, and a single error costs trust. We build systems that hold every group and subscriber, record each month's bids, calculate the dividend and the foreman's commission, track prize payments and sureties, and list defaulters with their dues. A collections app lets agents take instalments in the field and send each subscriber a receipt by SMS or WhatsApp. More detail sits on our page on software for chit fund companies.
CA and law firms: hundreds of deadlines, a handful of people
A CA practice with a few hundred clients multiplies every GST, TDS and income-tax due date by the length of its client list. Practice management software turns that into a compliance calendar, assigns each task to a staff member, requests missing documents from clients, watches DSC expiry dates and raises fee invoices; see software for CA firms. Law firms need a different spine: matters, hearing dates, a daily case diary, documents per matter, client updates and fee notes, which our law firm software page covers. Neither replaces the government portals or Tally; both organise the work that happens around them.
Insurance agents and field collection teams
An agent's business is the renewal book. A client CRM grouped by family, with policies, premium due dates, automatic reminders and notes on claims in progress, protects income that otherwise leaks away through forgetfulness, as our page on software for insurance agents explains. Field collection teams, whether for chit subscriptions, society dues or rents, need an app that records each payment, issues an instant digital receipt, stamps it with time and place, and reconciles cash at day-end.
Security proportionate to the data
Financial records include PAN details, bank statements and identity documents. We build with two-factor authentication, role-based permissions, encrypted backups and audit logs of who viewed or changed what, hosted in accounts registered in your name. We sign a mutual NDA on request, before you show us a single client file.
Costs
A focused tool, such as a CA firm's compliance calendar or an agent's renewal CRM, costs ₹50,000 to ₹1,50,000. A collections app is a single-purpose Android build, usually ₹1,00,000 to ₹2,50,000 over six to eight weeks. A complete chit fund management system falls between ₹1,50,000 and ₹5,00,000, and adding an agent app and subscriber portal across several branches takes it above ₹5,00,000.
Frequently asked questions
Can you build a loan management or core banking system for us?
No. Core banking and lending systems fall under Reserve Bank of India regulation and need vendors with the specific certifications, audits and track record that regulation demands. We would be the wrong choice, and we will say so. What we can build is the operational layer around such a system, such as a collections app, a customer portal or an internal dashboard, connected through the APIs your core system provides.
Is it safe to keep client financial data in the cloud?
It can be safer than the usual alternative of shared office computers, pen drives and email attachments, provided it is set up properly. That means two-factor login, permissions by role, encryption, regular tested backups and hosting with a reputable provider in an Indian data-centre region, in an account you own. Your duties under the DPDP Act apply either way; good software makes them easier to meet.
Can our collection agents work in areas with poor signal?
Yes. The collections app saves each payment on the phone with its time and location and syncs when a connection returns. The subscriber's SMS or WhatsApp receipt goes out at that point, and where an immediate paper receipt matters, a small Bluetooth printer can produce one on the spot. Day-end reconciliation then compares what each agent recorded with the cash actually handed in.
Our CA firm already uses Tally and the government portals. What would custom software add?
Tally and the portals handle the filing itself. What they do not show is which clients are still pending this month, who in the office is handling each one, which documents are missing and which DSCs expire soon. Practice management software sits above those tools and organises the work around them, so a partner sees the state of the whole practice on one screen instead of in a dozen chats.
